Forestry and Land Scotland will look after national forests and land to enhance biodiversity, support tourism and increase access to the green spaces that will help improve Scotland’s physical and mental health and well-being. We will also continue to provide vital timber supplies to support the rural economy.
The aim of the hub is to support community led climate action in the Highlands & Northern Isles in all the stages it takes to design, develop and deliver a project. We can support existing community groups or help communities to form new groups. Connecting communities through new and existing networks and signposting to further support as needed. Even if you are not developing a specific climate action project we can help you with climate ready policies for your organisations and how to embed climate action in your work.
We are Scotland’s nature agency. We work to improve our natural environment in Scotland and inspire everyone to care more about it.
So that all nature in Scotland – our key habitats and landscapes, all our green space and our native species – is maintained, enhanced and brings us benefits.
The Scottish Government is the devolved government for Scotland and has a range of responsibilities that include: the economy, education, health, justice, rural affairs, housing, environment, equal opportunities, consumer advocacy and advice, transport and taxation.
Scottish Rural Action’s vision is for vibrant and connected rural and island communities which have control over their future, and which contribute to building a society that is inclusive, just and sustainable. Our mission is to build a rural movement in Scotland that amplifies the voices of rural and island communities, with a particular focus on marginalized communities, and ensures their expertise is visible, valued and resourced within local and national policy.
